 Zaterdag 12 februari was het weer zover. Het jaarlijkse Van Poelgeest Toernooi. Dit jaar helaas een stuk minder inschrijvingen dan vorig jaar en op de dag zelf vielen er zelfs nog twee af. Hierdoor hadden we (maar) 12 deelnemers. Voor het eerst deden er ook internationale jeugdleden mee. Dankzij de hulp van Lex Dekkers, Michael Springwald en Claudia Vilters werden alle wedstrijden op de banen goed begeleid.
Iedereen speelde in eerste instantie op een half veld, maar door het wegvallen van een aantal wedstrijden kon iedereen daarna op een heel veld spelen. Zelfs de aller jongsten hebben hun eerste wedstrijden op een heel veld gespeeld! Dit was erg spannend en vermoeiend, maar toch ook heel erg leuk.
De winnaars waren: Mark Sirach in poule A, Nic Yiu in Poule B en Attila Springwald in Poule C. Zij kregen allen een grote fles (kinder) champagne. Alle deelnemers gingen tevreden naar huis met een grote reep chocola.
Wij vonden het weer een zeer geslaagd toernooi en hopen dat jullie ook veel plezier hebben gehad!

Saturday February 12 we had the annual Van Poelgeest Tournament. Unfourtunattely we had a lot less subscriptions than last year and we even had two cancellation just before the start of the tournament. So we (only) had 12 participants. But we did have some international members for the first time.
Thanks to Lex Dekkers, Michael Springwald and Claudia Vilters all matches were guided into the right directions.
At first the matches were played on half courts, but because we had a few matches less, later everybody could play on a full court. Even the youngest played their first matches on a whole court! Very exiting and tiring, but also so much fun.
The winners were: Mark Sirach for poule A, Nic Yiu for Poule B en Attila Springwald for Poule C.
They all got a large bottle of (children) champagne. All participants went home, satisfied and with a big bar of chocolate.
We thought it was a very succesful tournament and hope you all enjoyed it as well!
